Musically Speaking: June 2012

Let me just tell you that I am in love with the Aragon and would live there if I could. Best venue EVER. It literally looks like you just walked into a museum/Disneyworld! The lobby has cool sculptures and beautiful architecture. The inside of the venue is spectacular. The ceiling is a mural of the sky and when the lights go off it changes to twinkling stars. Words can't even describe it so I'm going to add a picture!

There normally aren't tables, it's usually just a big open space. This picture doesn't even do it justice so you should definitely see it in person!

Anyways, I could write an entire post about this place and how much I adore it but that would be boring for you so I'll refrain. This concert was the first time I'd ever been to this venue and it was the first time I'd gotten to see 30 Seconds to Mars AKA 30 Seconds to Jared according to me haha. SIDENOTE: For those of you that don't know, Jared Leto is an actor who was in the popular 90's show My So Called Life (he played Jordan Catalano) and in many other films. They had played a few shows before but I was either doing something else or it had sold out really fast. I'm so glad that I got to see them in concert, it was definitely worth the wait! I was a little shocked when Jared came out with a pink mohawk but quickly got used to it haha. He had sunglasses on for most of the show until about half way through when he took them off (Thank God! He has the prettiest blue eyes.) The opening acts were MUTEMATH (the band I met at Lolla in '09) and Neon Trees. I was delighted to see MUTEMATH again and Neon Trees were very entertaining as well. Three bands for $25 is a bargain and they were all great bands! 30STM played fan favorites such as The Kill, Closer to the Edge, Kings and Queens, among new songs from their newest cd. The most exciting part of the show was when I was sitting on a ledge at the back and Jared walks right in front of me! Naturally I ran after him haha security was really tight so I couldn't really get close to him but it was still cool. He also played in the crowd and was about 5 feet away from me at one point! After the concert we got to meet 30STM at a table in the lobby of the venue. It was really rushed so I said one thing to each band member and Jared happened to be the last one. ANOTHER SIDENOTE: Jared apparently took his sunglasses off and waved to my Mom while I was waiting to meet him. AHHHHH! I remembered that he mentioned he was moving to Chicago during the show and asked him if he was serious. The only thing the man does is shake his head up and down. No words, no expression, nothing. I felt like a big goof for asking that but hey, he said it not me! He was even better looking up close, even with the pink mohawk haha. I would definitely recommend seeing this band at least once, they put on a great show and Jared is such an entertainer. Guess what time it is....picture time! Enjoy :)
